A brief 10 minute phone consultation is required prior to booking the first session. This gives myself a chance to assess whether you are in crisis/require another health care provider (i.e. medical). It also allows yourself to ask any preliminary questions you may have about my practice.
Sessions are 60 minutes long. As sessions are only an hour clients are encouraged to arrive on time to make the most of their session. Running late happens to the best of us, but if clients have not arrived within half an hour of the scheduled time it will be considered a missed session.
The fee for each hour session is $180 (including HST). Payment is made immediately after session and can be paid by e transfer. If a session needs to be cancelled 48 hours or more is required in order to not be charged the full session fee.
Your first session will consist of some intake / background questions, while finding out what brings you to seek therapy at this time. We'll discuss your concerns and goals for therapy as well as answer any questions you may have. Subsequent sessions may continue with information gathering as we start to build a focus on your issues and goals.
It takes time to build a relationship of comfort and trust...the most important piece in your therapy! Although I may ask a variety of questions to get to know you and your issues better I meet you where you're at in your journey. We discuss only what you are comfortable discussing at the time and I would not introduce exercises or modalities without informing you and getting consent first. There is no time period to healing!
